I fell into a sewer…

March 9, 2010

I fell into a sewer todayI’ve had this idea for a photo in my head for about a week now, and I finally went and executed it last weekend.  I am in the process of looking for a DSLR, but for right now, all I have is a borrowed point and shoot.  😦

Anyways, I’m happy with how this photo turned out.  That being said, I think it could be a lot better.  I think the background is a little distracting.  Also, the hand is kind of hard to see at first glance.  I want to re-shoot the idea either at night with streetlights as lighting, or on a rainy day.  That would give it a more creepy feel, which I think would look sweet.  Maybe I’ll make some fake blood, too.  Of course, this all requires the cooperation of my boyfriend, so he can keep an eye out for cars, while I’m laying in the middle of the street.

I recommend viewing larger on my flickr.

Deviant Art

March 4, 2010

So almost a year ago, I got a deviant art account, and have been uploading some of my drawings and (more recently) some of my digital pieces.  I just added some of my photography, too.  It’s kind of a hodgepodge of everything.  Check it out and let me know what you think!!  All feedback is welcome 🙂

3rd Thursday

February 4, 2010

In downtown Orlando, there’s a gallery hop the 3rd Thursday of every month.  It’s right in the core of the Downtown Arts District.  My favorite part is the Mobile Art Gallery, put on by Lure.  They’re a design firm in Orlando, most known for their screen prints; they do posters, cards, postcards, announcements, etc.  Their stuff if great.  Well they rented a U-Haul, pimped it out with some Christmas lights hanging from the ceiling for light, and hung tons of their posters up.  It was amazing.  I wanted to carjack the U-Haul and all the posters in it.  We went to a few other galleries, too;  enjoy the pics!

Beautiful, bizarre, surreal, and dark art

December 30, 2009

These art pieces are truly beautiful.  Some of them have a grungy style while others are very soft.  They’re all pretty bizarre; just my style.

Check it out!

Andrew Spear @ Bold Hype

December 13, 2009

We went to see Andrew Spear at Bold Hype Gallery in Orlando, Florida.  I LOVE his art!  My favorite pieces are the ones where he draws the person out of black lines and leaves their skin mostly white.  He uses crazy detail.  I also love the color combinations he uses.  He uses colored pencil in a good amount of these works, however it doesn’t look like colored pencil; more like acrylics.  Amazing 🙂
